This privacy policy explains how your data is handled when using Interview Assist:

Self-Hosted Version:

- When you self-host Ezzi, your data remains entirely on your infrastructure.

- We do not collect any usage data, personal information, or analytics from self-hosted instances.

- Any data collected by your instance is governed by your own privacy policies and infrastructure.

- You are responsible for securing your self-hosted instance and the data it contains.

Cloud Service:

- When using our managed backend service, we collect minimal data necessary to provide the service.

- Account Information: We store your email address and encrypted authentication information.

- Usage Data: We collect anonymous usage statistics to improve our service.

- Interview Content: Any code or problem descriptions you submit are processed on our servers but are not permanently stored unless explicitly saved by you.

- We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties except as required to provide the service.

Data Security:

- We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data.

- All data transmitted between your client and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS.

Your Rights:

- You can request a copy of your personal data at any time.

- You can request deletion of your account and associated data.

This Service Level Agreement (SLA) applies only to the paid backend services offered by Ezzi:

Service Availability:

- Scheduled maintenance will be announced at least 48 hours in advance whenever possible.

- In the event of unplanned downtime, we will work to restore service as quickly as possible and provide regular status updates.

By using Ezzi, you agree to the following terms:

Open Source Code License:

- The Ezzi codebase is released under the MIT License.

- You are free to use, modify, and distribute the code according to the terms of that license.

- Contributions to the codebase are welcome but must be submitted under the same license terms.

Official Backend Service:

- Our paid backend service is offered as a convenience for users who prefer not to self-host.

- Use of the backend service is subject to fair usage policies to ensure quality service for all users.

- We reserve the right to limit or terminate access to users who abuse the service.

- Billing for the backend service is on a subscription basis, with various plans available.

Contributor License Agreement:

- By contributing to Ezzi, you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use your contributions.

- You confirm that your contributions are your original work and that you have the right to grant this license.

- Your contributions may be incorporated into the project under the project's open source license.

User Conduct: You agree not to:

- Use the service for unlawful purposes

- Attempt to disrupt or interfere with the service

- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data

Content Ownership:

- Any content you generate using Ezzi is yours.

- The underlying software, design, and infrastructure remain the property of their respective owners according to the applicable licenses.

Service Updates:

- We may update the software and services from time to time.

- For self-hosted instances, you control when and if to apply updates.

- For the backend service, updates will be applied automatically with notice for significant changes.

Liability Disclaimer:

- The software and services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

- We are not liable for any damages arising from the use of the software or services.

We may update these terms over time. Continued use of the platform means you accept the latest version.
